The Challenge

The OFD CARES team operates entirely in the field — in clients' homes, at harm reduction centers, and in the community — connecting high-need residents, particularly older adults and people experiencing housing instability, with social services. Their caseload reflects the real complexity of community-based work. Some clients arrive in crisis, ready to act. Others don't yet recognize the needs a trusted worker can see. Others will take a single step only if it's specific and immediate. Each requires a different kind of presence and none can afford to share that presence with a laptop. Documentation happened after hours. Resource research was manual and endless. And nothing connected the field work to the reporting that keeps a grant-funded program alive.

The Solution

Elora fit into the team's existing field workflow instead of fighting it. Rather than requiring real-time audio capture in sensitive settings, it lets workers build targeted resource lists after the visit — selecting and refining a personalized guide for each client. Clients left with something concrete to act on, and workers got hours back at each end of the day. What set it apart wasn't speed. It was relevance — surfacing the right resources for a specific person's situation rather than the most popular or most advertised.

"

Google is searching for everyone under the sun, but Elora is looking for how to connect people to the right resources based on what they're talking about and experiencing. It's not focused on advertising or popularity and not opinionated.
